Wine canteen Dió
Grocery store, bistro and wine tavern in one – regional delicatessen, house wines and Pannonian cosiness, right next to the Casa.Peiso.

The nut, the wine and the good life
Dió means “nut” in Hungarian – and also sounds like the Italian word for “God”. Both can be found in the store: walnut products and black nuts as the house specialty, as well as divinely good wines from the region. Since 2010, Dió has been based in a former local and fresh market – today a mixture of grocer’s shop, bistro and wine tavern. You can try many things on site or have them packed as a souvenir.
House wines & grape juice,
Muscat Ottonel and Blaufränkisch – plus coffee, tea and seasonal cold dishes.
Regional delicatessen walnut products,
black nuts, cheese, sausage, ham, homemade jams and pesti.
From family businesses partners
such as Hautzinger (sheep’s cheese), Karlo, Triebaumer and Golser beer – honestly Burgenland.
The gourmet breakfast
Start the day with the best of the region: drinks, fresh baked goods, homemade jams, cheese, sausage and egg dishes – lovingly prepared at Dió.
Spend the night where the wine is at home
As a house guest, you can enjoy the Dió right in front of your room door – and your personal wine safe in the 130-year-old vaulted cellar.
